CASE STUDY: Happy Gnome, HR Happy Gnome, Human Resources ("HGHR"), offers a host of customized employment services specifically designed to structure and streamline growing businesses. They offer fractional, outsourced and customized HR programs; recruiting and placement services; payroll and HRIS support; training and coaching; outplacement and transition services; and mergers and acquisitions assistance.
brief: As the new Chief Marketing Officer of HGHR (under the nonofficial affiliation of DiPersioDesign), I was hired to reimagine the HGHR entity as a rapidly growing start-up — I was recruited to essentially build the brand from scratch. The goal was to development, promote and push the messaging to inspire the world of cannabis and transformative businesses with innovative technologies, growth products and comprehensive human capital management services.
Our immediate efforts were focused around positioning Happy Gnome, HR, to the forefront of the start-up space and change how people think about human resources — returning to the "Why?" as an industry and redirect the focus back onto the employees.
approach: Along the with messaging "Don't Grow it Alone," we established HGHR as a business "cultivating its garden" — and your garden represents your people. Cultivate your people and allow them to grow and succeed in your industry ecosystem. Happy Gnome, HR, is your guardian and protector of your people. "Let them thrive."
I produced, developed, designed and directed all marketing, communications and branding strategies for the new HGHR brand. I planned and executed initiatives to launch the public phase of HGHR’s capital campaign and collaborated with other members of the leadership team sharing common expertise and insight related to all marketing and communications efforts.
I created and managed external communications including websites, email marketing channels, social media outlets, digital marketing and collateral materials. As well, I helped collaborate with traditional and new media channels to generate interest for HGHR events, conferences and industry programs.
I developed and managed a comprehensive marketing and communications budget, including contracts, social media agencies (as needed), graphic designers, printers and other vendors related to communications and branding. I also wrote and began implementing a unique marketing and communications plan with a focus on generating resources, measuring results and ensuring the brand was relevant and vital to stakeholders and board members.
results: After a massive push for creative growth and development within our marketing team, HGHR quickly began to measure its profound success among their clients and industry leaders as a competitive consulting partner for all stages of human resources.
We soon became well-versed in the complex nuances of finding great talent to help organizations build exceptional teams. Our all-in-one payroll and HR management software began to implement employees’ life cycles and get them paid correctly and on-time for a host of newly-signed and committed clients. HGHR was also able to provide the bandwidth to begin designing courses, programs, and one-on-one coaching services to help develop their clients' team members.
